Anaheim is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Anaheim is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you want a different, and tasty, twist on masubi in a casual joint -- and don't mind a few inconveniences -- Masubi Square is worth a try. The Background: Masubi Square is a Southern California take on a Hawaiian take on a Japanese staple. Everyone knows Japan invented onigiri (AKA omusubi), which involves rice and some sort of filling wrapped with nori (seaweed). In Hawaii, that evolved into Spam Masubi after World War II. Masubi Square is running with this progression by infusing it with touches of Korean and Mexican cuisine. The Food: I ordered the Miso Salmon Masubi, based on the cashier's recommendation, and the Korean BBQ Short Ribs Taco Masubi. The former was quite delicious thanks mostly to its moist, flaky fish. The nori was perfect -- crisp without being fragile, savory without being too salty. The latter dish was also quite tasty, with plenty of Korean BBQ Short Rib meat and a battered nori that was fried into the shape of a hard-shell taco with a flat bottom to keep it all together. Unfortunately, the rice in both orders was not sticky enough and fell apart after the first bite. By the time I got to the last bite, most of the fillings were o

We had such a great experience at Musabi Square in Anaheim! Thank you so much for the invitation to come in and try your menu. Musabi Square offers a great variety of options, including musabi, musabi tacos, and rice bowls, so there’s something for everyone. During our visit, we tried their popular Musabi Tacos, including the Way Feta, Grilled Unagi, Crispy Calamari, Korean Short Rib, Crunchy Crumble Shrimp, and Spicy Yuzu Pork. Every single taco was absolutely delicious! Each one had its own unique flavor, and you could really tell that a lot of care went into creating every combination. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were satisfying, and the flavors were well-balanced from start to finish. It was hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good! If you’re looking for a fun twist on tacos or want to try something different, we definitely recommend checking out Musabi Square. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to coming back to try even more from the menu. Thank you again to the Musabi Square team for the warm hospitality!

Came here on a whim driving home from Chino and the wifey strikes again with another random #instagram find. Decided to stop by and check it out. The musubi was pretty good and their honey garlic pork bowl was tasty to try. If I was in the neighborhood and had a musubi craving, I'd stop by and try it again. Be prepared if this joint gets busy, there are limited seating and tables available. When we arrived there were like 7-8 people that were having a meeting or something (I didn't see them eating any food just drinks and cannot assume anything) and took up most of the tables which left the bar and stool area. Said area was smack dab facing the sun which was a cool 80Β°f + and pleasant if you want to bake your legs that is. Luckily a couple had left one of their small tables just in time for our food was ready. We nearly was going to eat in our car. Other than that, it was decent for a small Asian fusion spot. Not quite the dining experience you would like during busy times of operation if you want to dine in. Getting there when they open would be your best bet or order online for pick up to avoid the place being packed. Place was clean, organized and decent service.

Had this place bookmarked for a while and it did not disappoint. The KBBQ Short Rib Musubi Taco was probably my favorite, the meat was flavorful, juicy, and paired so well with the musubi concept. The Wagyu Feta Taco was another standout and had a really nice combination of rich and salty flavors that worked surprisingly well together. What I appreciated most is that there wasn't a weak item. Sometimes fusion concepts can be hit or miss, but everything here felt well executed and thoughtfully put together. The food was fresh, the flavors were bold, and I already have a list of things I want to come back and try next time. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Anaheim.

We got the KBBQ Short Rib and Wagyu Feta tacos, and both were delicious. The meat in each taco was soft and tender, and I especially loved the crispy seaweed shell. We also ordered a side of spicy mayo, which paired perfectly with the tacos. Definitely worth trying!
